There are many more enjoyable pursuits than pushing a lawnmower around your North Shore yard on a hot day. So why not do your lawnmowing at night?
You’re probably thinking: “The neighbours are going to love that!”
A former gun manufacturer, no less, has just the answer.
Swedish company Husqvarna has designed its new Auto-Mower to keep lawns trimmed constantly and quietly. It’s available in either a battery or solar powered version and will even park itself on the charging unit when its power is low for a recharge.
The Auto-Mower, being electric, is an unassuming, quiet robotic mower that can work in any weather conditions. While you’re counting sheep, the Auto-Mower will maintain your lawn completely autonomously. Grass is cut at a consistent height and clippings are fine enough to be left on the lawn as mulch, avoiding the need for a catcher or raking afterward.
The mower automatically changes direction when it encounters solid objects thanks to inbuilt sensors and it will find its way around by means of low-current boundary wire. You simply staple or bury the perimeter wire in the ground to stop mower from wandering off onto neighbouring properties.
If anyone picks up your Autom-Mower without disarming its security system, an alarm goes off. A code is required to disarm the alarm. Entering an incorrect code more than three times locks the machine.
